A gigantic wild boar leaps over a high wall and charges at everyone in its path

The jumping ability of this huge, heavy animal surprises everyone, especially those on the other side of the wall, which it clears in a single bound, forcing them to run from its charges.

Gigantesco jabalí saltando un alto muro

We know that an adult wild boar can jump over obstacles one metre high from a standing start. When stressed or cornered, they are capable of clearing fences or escaping from traps between 1.5 and 1.8 metres high. Farmers and experts on the species therefore recommend fences over 2 metres high to protect vegetable gardens and crops.

In the video we have just watched, the wall consists of eight rows of concrete blocks. These blocks are usually 20 centimetres high, which, including the mortar holding them together, would give a total height of more than 190 centimetres.

Yet this animal has no difficulty jumping high enough to get most of its bulky body over the top of the wall. At that point, it only has to grip the wall with its front legs and push off with its hind legs to land on the other side.

This sends those who were not expecting the animal’s run to end this way fleeing. Its sheer size and the danger invariably associated with this species lead them to make the most sensible decision. Finally, we see the wild boar heading towards an area of vegetation, abandoning its attempt to chase the people who were there and who have fled from such a beast.
