Czech firearms manufacturer Česká Zbrojovka, better known internationally as CZ, has expanded its 600+ bolt-action rifle family with the new CZ 600+ Carbine, a compact model built around a shorter barrel, traditional styling and the modular features of the 600+ platform.
The new rifle has been reported by all4shooters / all4hunters and is now listed on the official CZ product page.
Its most visible feature is an ultra-light 18.5-inch threaded barrel, equivalent to roughly 470 millimetres. CZ presents the Carbine as a rifle that is easy to carry and quick to shoulder, a clear return to the traditional hunting carbine concept: shorter, less cumbersome and intended for practical movement in the field.
The receiver of the CZ 600+ CARBINE is made of lightweight alloy, with an integrated Picatinny rail.
A compact carbine with classic hunting lines
The CZ 600+ Carbine combines modern 600+ engineering with a deliberately traditional appearance. Its beechwood stock is made in-house by CZ and features checkering inspired by classic Brno rifles.
This is not a tactical chassis rifle. Instead, CZ has positioned it as a compact field rifle with a recognisable hunting profile, aimed at shooters who want modern function without abandoning a conventional stock and open-sight layout.
Confirmed features include a duralumin receiver with an integrated Picatinny rail, adjustable open sights, a fibre-optic front sight, a four-position adjustable trigger and CZ’s patented S.E.A. safety system, described by the manufacturer as silent, ergonomic and ambidextrous.
The carbine is initially offered in three chamberings: .223 Remington, 7.62x39 mm and .300 AAC Blackout. These cartridges are commonly associated with compact rifles, target shooting, predator control or field use, depending on national law and local availability.
Their hunting applications should not be assumed universally. In many markets, legality will depend on the species, minimum calibre or energy requirements, magazine restrictions and the type of ammunition authorised for hunting.

The return of the handy field rifle
Beyond the specification sheet, the CZ 600+ Carbine points to a wider trend in the rifle market. CZ appears to be reinforcing a line of more manageable bolt-action rifles at a time when many new firearms are increasingly specialised, heavier or designed around precision-shooting niches.
For dense vegetation, short stalks, close-range hides or dynamic hunting situations, a short carbine can still make sense for part of the international market. The appeal is straightforward: less length, quicker handling and easier carry in real field conditions.
The rifle also retains the user-interchangeable barrel system, one of the defining features of the CZ 600+ series. According to CZ, the platform uses controlled feeding with a short extractor, cold hammer-forged barrels and a detachable 10-round magazine that can also be locked in place for fixed-magazine operation.
As with the chamberings, effective magazine capacity will depend on the laws in force in each country or region.
For now, the CZ 600+ Carbine should be treated as a new commercial release rather than a field-tested verdict. The available information comes from CZ’s official product listing and specialist firearms media. Pricing, country-by-country distribution, real shop availability and independent testing of accuracy, handling and hunting ergonomics remain to be seen.
